The melted ice running from the glacier Vatnajokull and the crystal clear mountain water make up an interesting combination of glacier rivers and freshwater rivers and creeks that can be found in the east of Iceland. One of the glacier river, Jokla, is at the time of this writing disappearing due to the construction of the reservoir Halslon by Karahnjukar Dam.
