The Village Sudavik

This photo is taken in Sudavik in Alftafjordur. The photo shows the older part of the village and the area of the village that got hit by a deadly avalanche in 1995 killing many of the residents. The avalanche fell from the mountain seen on the left side of the picture. The houses still left in this part of the village are no longer used as residential houses, only as summer houses when it is save to stay there.
