The Village Thingeyri in Dyrafjordur

This village is located in Dyrafjordur, "The Fjord of Animals" in a very loose translation, and bears the name Thingeyri. The population is only few hundred people, but the village and the fjord are well known in Iceland's history back to the time of Vikings. One of the first conflicts over Iceland’s fishing grounds took place in Dyrafjordur.
